Barton Cowperthwaite is a proud native of Denver, CO. He started dancing at age 12 and never looked back. His passion for acting began to blossom while performing improv and sketch comedy with The Black Actors Guild in Denver. Since graduating from University of Arizona in 2013, Barton has been chasing his dreams of stardom and has no plans of slowing down. Most recently it was announced that he will be playing the role of Oren in Netflix’s new original series “Tiny Pretty Things”. Barton starred as Damon in the Lifetime original film “Center Stage: On Pointe” Directed by Director X. He has performed the lead role of Jerry in the First National Tour of “An American in Paris”, choreographed and directed by Christopher Wheeldon. He stepped in last minute to play Paris in Encores! “The Golden Apple”, along side Lindsay Mendez at The NY City Center. Recently he was featured dancing in the new FX series Fosse/ Verdon. He performed the role of Sebastian in Travis Wall’s production of “After The Curtain” with Shaping Sound, Played Romeo in The Bad Boys of Dance’s production of “Romeo and Juliet”, and has danced principal roles for numerous choreographers including Lar Lubovitch, Jack Ferver, Pontus Lidberg, Adrienne Canterna, Lauren Lovette, Michelle Dorrance, Lorin Latarro, and many more. During the time in between performance and film work, Barton has established an impressive resume in the fashion industry, modeling in campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Macy’s, Gap, Old Navy, Uniqlo, and Zolando. @BartonC
